I have experience and skills in working with many issues including anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem and relationships concerns.
Anyone may experience worry and anxiety as a normal response to everyday living. However, when anxiety is persistent, and you may already have a diagnosis from a health-care provider, counselling helps you to find ways of coping. Coping strategies help to reduce your anxiety and improve how you feel, and inevitably you begin to make better decisions, you’re able to live your life more comfortably. Who doesn’t want that?
In couples counselling there is a recognition that relationships are a lot more difficult and take a lot more energy than any of us like to admit. With the honeymoon period a distant memory there can be a whole host of issues arising from our ideas or expectations of how things should be. This can be a confusing time as we become so caught up in what we believe that it becomes more and more uncomfortable to make ourselves understood or heard, so we stop trying. We stop communicating in a healthy way! Counselling gives couples some distance and some space in order to confront what their issues really are! Working towards communication, connection, and mutual respect, the process of therapy allows for growth and repair.
So, no matter what difficulties you are facing right now; relationship issues, anxiety, work-related stress, or something else, I will help you find your way through this difficult time using a variety of approaches and skills to help you work toward some resolution.
Emotions and behaviours are complex, and the issues which are visible to us are usually a sign of something going on a little deeper, just out of sight.
Counselling can help get to the bottom of issues such as …
Anxiety
Depression
Loss
Embarrassment/shame
Relationship issues
Self-esteem issues
Stress
Trauma
Working to promote healthy habits creates healthy minds and one common thread that unites almost everybody who enters counselling – is the need for something to change…

“beginnings are scary, endings are usually sad, but it’s the middle that sees the important stuff and counts the most. Try to remember that when you find yourself at a new beginning. Just give hope a chance to float up. And it will…” quote from the film Hope Floats
I work with you in a person-centered way and use an integrative approach in order to help you move forward.
